Listen: you haven’t lived if you haven’t cooked pizza on your grill. We’re serious. Grilling pizza is one of those magical cooking experiences that’s easy, fun, and gives you that perfect crispy, slightly smoky flavor that an oven just can’t match. Plus, it basically guarantees you’ll be the hero of every summer cookout.
.
Whether you’re making a Friday night dinner or hosting a backyard party, grilled pizza is simple to master with just a few tips.
.
1. Start With the Right Dough
You can use store-bought dough or make your own, but the key is to let it come to room temperature before grilling. This makes it easier to stretch and helps prevent shrinking on the grill.
2. Preheat Your Grill
Get your grill preheated to medium-high heat. The beauty of an electric grill is that you can control the temperature precisely—no flare-ups, no guesswork.
3. Oil It Up
Brush your dough lightly with olive oil before placing it on the grill. This prevents sticking and helps you get those beautiful grill marks.
4. Grill One Side First
Lay the oiled side of the dough directly on the grate. After a few minutes, when the bottom is set and has nice grill marks, flip it over and add your toppings.
5. Go Light on the Toppings
Less is more! Since you’re cooking fast, you don’t want to overload your pizza and risk a soggy crust.
6. Close the Lid
Once your toppings are on, close the lid to let everything melt and cook evenly. The enclosed heat acts like an outdoor pizza oven.
7. Experiment & Have Fun
The best part of grilled pizza is how versatile it is. You can go classic or get wildly creative. Need some inspiration? We’ve got you covered:
Sweet, spicy, and just a little fancy — this grilled pizza combines melty mozzarella, crispy pepperoni, tangy peppadews, and a drizzle of hot honey for the perfect balance of flavor.
A sweet treat that’s as easy as it is delicious: creamy chocolate hazelnut spread layered on grilled naan, finished with fresh berries or chopped nuts.
A perfectly grilled pastry topped with rich brie, bright lemon curd, and juicy blueberries — elegant enough for guests, simple enough for any night.
8. Serve & Enjoy
Slice it up, serve it hot, and accept all the compliments coming your way. Bonus points for serving with a cold drink and some sunshine.
So fire up that grill and start experimenting. Because honestly, once you grill pizza, regular oven pizza just feels… a little sad.
We’re excited to share that Kenyon Grills was featured in a recent NPR article about the growing shift toward electric grilling as a cleaner, safer option for outdoor cooking.

Spring is officially here — and with it comes sunshine, longer days, and the undeniable craving for all things grilled. Before you dive into burgers, veggies, and seafood, it’s the perfect time to give your Kenyon grill a little TLC.
Here’s how to get your grill sparkling clean and ready for the season ahead:
Polish Up That Shine
.
Your Kenyon grill is made from durable 304-grade stainless steel, designed to last for years of incredible meals and memories. Even with its passivated surface for extra protection, a little spring cleaning keeps it looking (and working) its best.
When cleaning stainless steel:
Avoid harsh cleaners like bleach, chlorine-based sprays, oven cleaners, and heavy-duty degreasers — they can break down the protective layer and cause damage.
Skip abrasive tools like steel wool that can scratch the surface and lead to rust.
Best practice: Clean with mild dish soap and warm water using a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn spots, Cerama Bryte Stainless Steel Polish restores shine and leaves behind a streak-free, protective finish.
Pro Tip: Always wipe with the grain of the stainless steel to maintain that sleek, flawless look!
.
.
Grate and Griddle Care
.
Your Kenyon grate and griddle are naturally non-stick — no extra butter or oil needed for most foods! (In fact, using too much oil can cause unnecessary smoke.)
Here’s how to keep them in top condition:
After grilling, while the surface is still warm (but not too hot!), use a wet paper towel and a pair of tongs to wipe away any leftover food or marinade.
If the grill has cooled, preheat on medium heat for a few minutes, then use the wet paper towel method.
Deep clean: Place the cooled grate or griddle in the dishwasher occasionally to loosen and remove tougher residue.
Important: Use only high-temperature nylon or silicone utensils when cooking. Metal utensils and wire brushes can damage the non-stick coating, and damages caused by improper utensils aren’t covered under warranty.
.
Reminder:
Avoid preheating for longer than 10 minutes without food on the grill to reduce the risk of smoke caused by an empty drip tray.
If the non-stick coating eventually begins to fade (which is normal over time), lightly oiling before cooking can help — just expect a little extra smoke. If this happens within 3 years of purchase, reach out to our Customer Service Team for a replacement!
At Kenyon, we’re all about making cooking easier, safer, and just a little bit cooler. One feature we’re especially proud of? Every Kenyon induction cooktop comes with its own SilKEN® Mat — a small detail that makes a big difference in your cooking experience. This patented mat covers the entire cooking area of your Kenyon induction cooktop providing pot retention, glass top protection, quick heat dissipation and easy cleanup.
.
.
First, What Is Induction Cooking?
Induction cooking uses electromagnetic energy to directly heat your cookware — not the cooktop surface. That means faster heat-up times, more precise temperature control, and improved energy efficiency compared to traditional electric or gas cooktops. Plus, since the cooktop itself stays relatively cool, it’s a much safer and cleaner way to cook.
Each SilKEN® Mat is designed to fit its cooktop perfectly, combining smart engineering with everyday convenience. Made from a textile fiberglass core coated in food-grade silicone, it delivers a range of benefits you’ll notice from the very first use:
Pot Retention: Helps keep your pots and pans securely in place — especially important if you’re cooking on a boat, in an RV, or anywhere the kitchen might move.
Glass Top Protection: Acts like a shield between your cookware and the cooktop surface to help prevent scratches and extend the life of your appliance.
Quick Heat Dissipation: The mat dissipates heat quickly after cooking, helping your cooktop cool down faster and stay safer to the touch.
Effortless Cleanup: When you’re done cooking, just toss the mat in the dishwasher. That’s it!
And because our SilKEN® Mats exceed ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council) requirements for pot retention, they’re trusted even in the toughest marine environments.

Master the Basics of Grilling
Grilling with Kenyon Electric Grills is easier and safer than ever before. With flameless and smokeless technology, you can enjoy delicious meals inside or out, all while keeping your space clean and smoke-free. Follow these simple tips for perfect results every time:
.
1. Set Up for Success
Start by placing a drip tray into the bottom of your grill. Make sure the burner brackets are not resting on the tray—this allows everything to heat evenly and function
properly.
.
.
2. Add Liquid for Smoke-Free Flavor
To prevent smoke and add extra flavor, always fill the drip tray with 2 cups of liquid before grilling. This step is essential for both function and taste.
Here are some tasty ideas:
Water – simple and effective for smokeless cooking
Beer – perfect for brats and sausages
Apple juice – enhances pork with subtle sweetness
Lemon-lime soda – complements seafood beautifully
Wine – adds depth to steaks and lamb
Never use flammable liquids. After filling the drip tray, reinstall your cooking grate or griddle.
Plug your Kenyon grill directly into a grounded outlet. (Do not use extension cords.) Then place the grate or griddle back on top.
.
.
4. Preheat Your Grill
Preheating is a crucial step for a successful grilling session. With the lid closed, let the grill preheat for 5–9 minutes depending on the food you’re preparing. This ensures even heat and ideal searing temps.
.
.
5. Grill Smarter, Not Harder
Use only high-temp plastic or nylon utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick surface of the cooking grate. If you need a set that’s up for the job, our Kenyon Utensil Kit is built to perform.
.
.
6. Close the Lid & Cook
Once preheated, add your food, close the lid, and let the grill do its thing. With no flare-ups or smoke, you’ll get evenly cooked, restaurant-quality results—every single time.
.
.
7. Clean Up with Ease
After grilling, grab a wet paper towel with tongs and wipe down the grate while it’s still warm. Once cooled, you can place the grate or griddle in the dishwasher—because great meals shouldn’t end with a mess.
That’s it! You’re now ready to enjoy the best of grilling without the hassle, smoke, or fire. Whether you’re making breakfast indoors or hosting a sunset BBQ on your balcony, your Kenyon grill has you covered.

Chef Will Gilson
The Puritan & Company Chef shares his recipe for Grilled Marinated Beef Short Ribs.
Choosing the Meat – pick a steak that’s at least 1 1/2 inches thick with marbling in the meat. Marbling means the fat is dispersed throughout the steak and the flavor will be, too. The fat adds flavor and makes it tender and juicy.
Grill with High heat – grill over high, direct heat and only turn steaks once for the best sear.
Let it Rest – after grilling, let the steak rest for 5-15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
From grill utensils to lids, make sure that you have the right tools for all of your grilling needs.
Grill Utensils – Ensure you have the right tools to make grilling a breeze. Only use grill utensils that are made of silicone or high temperature plastic. This will prevent damage to the coated grilling surface. Our Grill Utensil Kit includes a spatula, fork, tongs, and basting brush, all designed for use with Kenyon grills.
Griddle– Will come in handy for most of our breakfast recipes. Ideal for breakfast recipes like pancakes, eggs, and bacon. The smooth griddle is interchangeable with the standard grate, giving you more versatility in your cooking.
Optional Lids – Create convection-like heat by covering your grill, which helps cook food more evenly and faster. This is perfect for reducing grilling times and ensuring everything cooks just right.
Coated Drip Tray -Upgrade to a permanent, non-stick drip tray that captures fat and juices, preventing flare-ups. It’s dishwasher-safe and never needs replacing.
