Kenyon began as a small manufacturer of aviation and marine instruments in 1931. As business developed they led the way with the breakthrough development of ceramic glass cooktops for the high seas, becoming the standard for yachts around the world. The immense popularity of the cooktops led to high-demand for shore-side models to be enjoyed in homes.
We’ve spent the last 90 years engineering smart designs that have changed the way people think about cooking, while providing exemplary customer service.
Today, Kenyon International, Inc. is the largest manufacturer in North America of two burner ceramic glass cooktops and high quality stainless steel electric grills.
The company consistently surpasses challenging engineering concepts that lead their customers to a new and innovative cooking experience.
We are proud to say that our outstanding achievements in innovation, design and functionality have been recognized by Appliance Design magazine’s prestigious Annual Excellence in Design Award Competition.
In April 2011, our Kenyon SilKEN® Induction Cooking System was awarded the Silver Excellence in Design award in the “major appliances and HVAC category” by Appliance Design magazine’s 24th Annual Excellence in Design Award Competition. This was a follow-up to our 2007 Bronze Excellence In Design award our Rio Grill received in the “outdoor leisure product” category.
The Floridian Grill’s innovation in design and technology snagged Kenyon a finalist spot for the 2008 Vesta Award. The following year, Kenyon again was named a finalist for the Texan Grill, making us the first company to be named a finalist in the same category two years in a row.
In 2010, we were honored to take home the prestigious Vesta Award presented by Hearth & Home Magazine for the Kenyon Lite-Touch Q Outdoors, which is the first UL (Underwriters Laboratories) outdoors approved electric cooktop.
With Kenyon, you can experience the joy of cooking whether you’re shoreside or out on the seas. In 2010, Kenyon SilKEN® was recognized as being one of the most innovative products in the sailboat market. As result, we were honored to receive SAIL magazine’s esteemed Pittmann Innovation Award for SilKEN.
The Dame is one of the most important awards to be given in the yachting industry. Yearly, there are more than a hundred products that are submitted but only a few are nominated and only the best are given the prize.
Not only did our SilKEN induction cooktop with integral silicone pads win the DAME Most Innovated Product award in 2009, but we walked away with a special mention at the METS 2009 Trade Show in Holland. This followed our METS 2008 Trade Show special mention for Kenyon’s patent pending PUPS (Pop Up Pot System) cooktop.
