Apple-Stuffed Grilled Ham Steaks

butter
1 tbsp
apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
2
ham steaks (about 6 oz each), 1/2-inch thick slices
4
chopped fresh parsley
1/4 tbsp

Honey Bourbon Glaze:

butter
2 tbsp
garlic, minced
1 clove
bourbon
1/4 cup
honey
2 tbsp
dijon mustard
1 tbsp
salt and pepper
1/4 tsp each
1
Honey Bourbon Glaze: Melt butter in small saucepan set over medium heat; cook garlic for 1 minute. Stir in bourbon, honey, Dijon, salt and pepper; bring to simmer and cook for about 5 minutes or until mixture is thickened slightly. Set aside.
2
Melt butter in skillet set over medium heat; sauté apples for about 5 minutes or until softened. Using sharp knife, slice ham steaks lengthwise without cutting all the way through to other side. Lift one side of ham steaks and stuff with sautéed apple slices; fold over.
3
Add liquid to drip tray and preheat Kenyon Grill to medium. Brush ham steaks with glaze and place on grill. Close lid; grill for about 5 minutes or until grill marks appear. Turn over and grill for about 5 minutes or until grill marks appear and steaks are heated through. Cut in half and garnish with fresh parsley.

TIP

Serve any extra glaze alongside steaks.

TIP

You can purchase 1/2-inch thick ham steaks at the deli counter.
