A brief note of thanks for Kenyon’s prompt response to my inquiry into parts for my ageing yacht stove.

Our telephone conversation today was a great help and your comments and suggestions will, I am sure lead me to getting my trusty stove back to another many years of satisfactory use.
A quality product is generally supported by quality people behind it. Our phone call confirmed that to me. Many thanks for your time and I look forward to doing business with you.
Best regards,
Bill Gilmer, Legacy Skipper.

On August 12th Kenyon participated in the Battle of the Burger in Boston MA, but no burgers did we make! This is the event’s 4th year running and it’s hosted by a hometown favorite, Boston Magazine.  We were the official grill sponsor of the event and setup inside the VIP area to provide guests with something other than what the local competition was grilling up.

What compliments a burger best? Bacon of course!  And that’s exactly what we brought to the people, bacon wrapped scallops with an herbed cream cheese and roasted red pepper stuffed zucchini roll. Can’t grill bacon you say? Well you can when you have our electric grills that are flame free and have a drip tray filled with water that’s safe to catch any grease drippings, that’s how!
The bacon wrapped scallops were a big hit, as well as our cooking method, and we grilled non-stop through the evening. We were able to take a few moments to enjoy the atmosphere, take some great candid photos and see the top 30 burger restaurants that Boston has to offer.
Here’s a recap of our night chilling and grilling with the locals in Boston. Good times with great people and even better burgers!

Our grilling expert talks about the importance of grilling safety with WTHN’s Sam Kantrow.  Check it out!

_DSC2799A grill is the quintessential “big kids toy” as it evokes a feeling of excitement and adventure with each and every use. However, with high heat and temperatures come associated risks that every “big kid” must be mindful of to ensure a worry free and fun grilling session.

Using your Kenyon electric grill minimizes many, if not most of the safety risks involved with those other methods of outdoor grilling. Regardless, we still have a few guidelines and grill safety tips to follow so yours will last and perform for many enjoyable years to come.

Did you know?

“Gas grills lead to an average of 7200 fires per year – while charcoal grills cause an average of 1400 fires per year.” – National Fire Protection Agency

“$37 million in property damage and loss each year result from grill fires and 52% of all fires occur on grills in balconies, terraces and patios” – US Fire Administration

And while all of our Kenyon grills are electric and free of flames, be sure to always follow these safety precautions…

DON’T: Forget to add liquid to the drip tray!

Why? Even though your electric grill technically is flame and smoke free, it doesn’t mean the drippings from your food won’t heat up, burn and catch fire down in the drip tray if it’s left dry and arid.

DO: Add at least 1 cup of a compatible liquid to your drip tray. Make sure the liquid is not flammable. This will not only prevent any flare ups or smoke arising from food or grease drippings, but it will also saturate and steam your meal for a whole new level of tenderness.

Did you know?

“Between August of 2011 and June of 2012, six people went to the hospital with internal injuries from wire bristles lodged in their necks or stomachs.” – CDC

DON’T: Use steel or metal utensils, it will chip your coated grate and worse, pieces of the grate or the brush could end up inside your digestive track where they don’t belong.

DO: Use silicone or nylon brushes, tongs and spatulas so they won’t scratch the grate surface and chips of metal won’t end up in your food.

DON’T: Forget to clean your grill components after every use.

DO: Keep your grill clean by regularly removing grease and fat buildup from the grates and drip tray below. Once your grill is tepid, take a wet paper towel and your grill tongs and generously wipe down the grate surface. Be sure to completely empty and clean out your drip tray after every use as well, so these flavors won’t end up in your next meal. Your Kenyon grill lid, grate and coated drip tray are all dishwasher safe, making clean up extra easy when things get extra messy.

DON’T: Forget to turn off your grill! Our touch control grills have a safety mechanism in place to shut off after 60-90 minutes. If you’re using one of our portable grills with a knob, be sure to turn off the grill immediately after use.

DO: Power off, unplug, let the grate surface temperature drop so it’s just warm enough to steam clean the grate thoroughly then once your grill has completely cooled down store properly.

Did you know?

“Every year more than 400 people are admitted to the emergency room from carbon monoxide poisoning.” – CDC                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Charcoal and gas grills produce large amounts of carbon monoxide, which is a colorless, odorless and extremely toxic gas so even the smallest amounts can kill you.

DON’T: Use a propane or charcoal grill inside, ever, not even once, not even in your garage!

DO: Use your Kenyon electric All Seasons™ grill which is specifically designated for either inside or outside use, on the counter or out on the patio, whether it’s snow, rain or shine so you can continue your grilling season well into the year when those other grills need to be tucked away.

The much anticipated summer season has finally arrived and outdoor grilling is in full effect! Celebrate the long, warm days of summer by hosting the ultimate BBQ for your friends and family. Wow your guests with these party tips and summer staples for your most successful cookout yet.

The Right Place, The Right Time

Sunshine with a breeze are the desired conditions for any BBQ, however the weather doesn’t always work out in our favor. Make sure to plan for rain or shine and have an indoor setup ready to go. The party won’t stop because of bad weather; your Kenyon electric grill can be used both inside and outside.

Invite friends and family and even the neighbors to make it an all out block party! Good company, good conversation and great food are the most important ingredients to an unforgettable event.

Drink Me

Ice-cold beer and wine are a must for such occasions. Easy to grab and pour with little mess or fuss. Add these beverages that you’ll already have on hand to your grills drip tray to infuse a new flavor into your foods.

Chilled beverages are a welcomed relief in the hot summer sun. Also consider making a batch of punch ahead of time to set out for guests to help themselves.

Grill It Up

Marinated chicken, juicy burgers and crispy hot dogs are exactly what you think of when you hear the word BBQ. Prepare your meats the night before your event so the chicken or beef can fully marinate for optimum tenderness and taste. Here are a few recipes we recommend to throw on your Kenyon grill:

Pick Your Sides, Any Sides

To compliment the main food event, choose the right sides based on your grilled meats of choice. 2-3 sides work best. If you were cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs the perfect additions to your feast would be a zesty pasta salad, creamy potato salad and maple bacon baked beans. Fresh or grilled veggies pair well with chicken and steak. To further help in your preparation details, ask guests to bring a side dish so you have more time to relax and enjoy the party.

Let’s Play

It’s always a good idea to have a variety of games on hand to entertain your guests throughout the day. Some favorite summertime activities for all ages are; horseshoes, badminton, ladder ball and frisbee. If the conditions are right consider having a bonfire with smores to keep the party going into the night.

Dessert Please!

Let’s not forget about the sweets! Every savory meal needs a sweet note to balance out your taste buds. Summertime meals call for light and airy desserts such as fruits or puddings. Here are some grilled dessert ideas that are sure to be crowd pleasers:

Of course no backyard bash would be complete without your Kenyon grill! From tender veggies to perfectly seared meats, your guests are sure to want to kiss the cook!

The Manual created a list of 5 useful BBQ accessories help you prepare for July 4th which includes our City Grill.

Grilling is one of the greatest, manliest pastimes one can engage in. If BBQ gear didn’t exist, men would cook meat by boldly holding it over open flames. Fortunately, there are such things as BBQ accessories, and each one plays a big part in making BBQs more successful. For your reading (and grilling) pleasure, we would like to present a few of our favorite BBQ accessories for this July 4th and beyond.

1. Kenyon’s City Grill

This isn’t so much a BBQ accessory as it is the BBQ itself. Kenyon’s City Grill was explicitly designed to accommodate urban grillers. Even if your outdoor space is limited to a small balcony, you can still host a Fourth of July BBQ thanks to this little number. And we mean little — it has a footprint of just 21 x 12. Kenyon’s City Grill heats up to 500 degrees, puts out almost no smoke, and can even operate indoors. Also, the non-stick grate is dishwasher safe, making cleanup and maintenance super simple.
