Your Kenyon IntelliKEN Touch™ grill is designed for reliable performance and easy operation. Because it is a sealed electric unit, it does not require regular maintenance like a traditional grill. Still, if something is not working as expected, there are a few simple steps that can help you get back to grilling quickly.

This guide covers proper grill setup, common error codes, and what to do if your IntelliKEN grill needs attention.

 Start with the Right Setup

Before grilling, make sure your unit is set up properly. Good preparation helps support consistent performance and a cleaner cooking experience.

  • Start with a clean grill surface and clean drip trays
  • Add 2 cups of water to each drip tray before grilling
  • For longer grilling sessions, check the trays and add more water if it appears to have evaporated

Keeping water in the drip trays helps maintain the smokeless experience your grill is designed to deliver.

First Steps if Your Grill Is Not Operating Correctly

If your grill is not operating correctly, start with these basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Power down the unit and restart it
  • Allow the grill to cool as needed
  • Before performing any wiring-related work, disconnect and lock out the main power supply at the breaker

Understanding IntelliKEN Grill Error Codes

If the grill detects an issue, the control display may show an error code. These codes help identify the problem and point you toward the recommended corrective action.

E04

Description: Unit operating at high temperature.

Action: Allow the unit to cool. Ensure the correct cooking utensil type is being used. Lower the cooking level or temperature setting if needed.

E06, E07, E08, E09

Description: Internal electronic control issue.

Action: Refer to Kenyon Customer Care.

E10

Description: More than two control functions were activated at the same time for three seconds, causing the unit to power down.

Action: Re-power the unit and command one control input at a time.

Tips for Smooth Performance

A few simple habits can help your IntelliKEN grill perform at its best:

  • Keep the control panel clean and dry. Grease or liquids splashed onto the control panel can activate input functions.
  • Use one control input at a time
  • Let the grill cool between high-heat cooking sessions when needed
  • Always begin with water in the drip trays
  • For long grilling sessions, add more water if it has evaporated to help maintain a smokeless cooking experience
