Keeping your grill in top shape doesn’t just make it look brand new—it also ensures the best cooking performance for years to come. Regular cleaning helps prevent buildup, makes maintenance easier, and keeps your food tasting fresh.

Below, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to disassemble your Kenyon grill. You can also watch the full video tutorial embedded below, and check out our Stainless Steel Care Guide for tips on keeping every surface looking its best.

Step 1: Remove the Lid

Each side of the G2 Grill lid is designed with a small peg that slides into a channel on the base. To remove the lid, carefully lift upward while guiding the pegs out of the channels. Once both sides are free, you can lift the lid completely off and set it aside.

Step 2: Remove the Grate

The grate has small holes in each corner for easy handling. Hook your fingers into the holes and lift straight up to remove the grate from the cooktop.

Step 3: Lift the Element

The heating element is hinged at the back of the grill. Gently lift the front of the element to tilt it upward, giving you access to the drip tray underneath.

Step 4: Remove the Drip Tray

To remove the drip tray, place your fingers along the inside edges. Push outward slightly to create tension against the tray walls, then lift straight up to remove it.

Step 5: Remove the Heat Baffle

The heat baffle sits directly under the element and drip tray. Use the built-in handles on either side to lift it up and out of the grill.

Cleaning Care

Once you’ve disassembled the grill, it’s time to give each part a proper clean:

  • Grate or Griddle: These can go straight into the dishwasher for a thorough wash.
  • Lid: The lid is also dishwasher-safe. Running it through every 10–15 uses will keep it looking polished and like new.
  • Drip Tray: Empty any grease, then wash with warm, soapy water or place it in the dishwasher.
  • Heat Baffle: Wipe it down with a damp cloth or wash in the sink with mild detergent to remove any residue or place it in the dishwasher.

Regularly cleaning these components prevents buildup, keeps your grill performing at its best, and makes it ready for your next cookout.
