Bigger is no longer better.

The Tiny House Movement is here!

People all over are downsizing the space that they live in to a “tiny house” which is anywhere from 100-500 square feet.  This trend is gaining popularity as the desire to have financial freedom and a simpler lifestyle are drawing people to utilize a smaller foot print. The “bigger is better” culture may be a thing of the past with the Tiny House Movement becoming a more viable option across the country in both urban and rural areas.

Space is at a premium when downsizing and for most it is hard to give up the creature comforts we have grown accustomed to using daily. One room of the house that takes a huge hit is the kitchen, where most of the biggest appliances are found. In many small spaces, the kitchen becomes a utility room that serves multiple purposes when not being used. For this reason, counter space is used for multiple purposes as well and Kenyon has the perfect solution for your compact cooking appliance needs with our ceramic cooktops and electric grills to help you maximize the versatility.

A great space saving alternative to your range for a small kitchen is our compact ceramic cooktops.  They can be installed in landscape or portrait orientations making them perfect for any size countertop.  They can also be recessed as shown in the images below to maximize your counter space when not cooking. We offer 8 different styles so you’ll be sure to find exactly what you need for your tiny kitchen.

Another sacrificed luxury commonly found with downsizing is the loss of room to store and use a grill. Versatile and mobile, our Kenyon grills are safe and easy to use.  The perfect size for small living, these portable grills can be used indoors and be stored in any kitchen cabinet.  The City Grill is the perfect choice for tight quarters.  With the flat angular lid, dishes, cutting boards and all types of kitchen supplies can be stored directly on top of the lid when not in use. If you are looking into living in one of the larger “tiny” homes, you might even have room to install a grill into your counter top as well! We have several built-in options to suit any chef’s needs so they do not have to sacrifice the pleasure of cooking gourmet meals just because they don’t have space.
