French Toast is a staple brunch food that is super simple to make on our griddle. Start with this basic recipe and we will show you five ways to dress it up!
1 (12-inch) loaf day-old challah or brioche
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add 2 cups of water to the drip tray and change out the grate for the optional griddle. Preheat grill to medium heat.
Whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the egg white bowl, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds.
Transfer bread slices to griddle, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side.
1) Cream Cheese Filling
Beat together 1 package of cream cheese, powdered sugar, 1/3 cup white sugar, 1 tbsp vanilla until a you have a spreading consistency. Spread a thick layer of cream cheese filling on one side of the bread and form a sandwich. Top with strawberries, syrup and whipped cream.
2) Bacon, Egg, & Cheese
With a cookie cutter make hole in the center of the slice of bread, proceed with french toast recipe and add the egg in the hole while on griddle.
Cut French toast into squares and add your favorite fruit and breakfast meat to a kabob stick, dip in maple syrup!
5) Monte Cristo
Top each slice of French toast with 1 slice each deli-sliced ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese and 1 fried egg.
