Now’s the perfect time to figure out how to get the most out of your Kenyon Grill with our Guide to Grilling.  Learn how to grill everything, plus our best recipes and tips for the perfect cookout classics.

 Mastering the Grilling Basics

Grilling your favorite food has never been easier or safer as Kenyon Electric Grills are flameless and smokeless.  Cook delicious meals from the comfort of your kitchen or while relaxing outside. Be sure to follow these basic tips for perfect results every time.

Add Flavor – To ensure that no smoke is caused when food drippings hit the drip tray, make sure to always place water in the drip tray.  This provides an added benefit of adding flavor to your grilled food along with moisture, as the liquid will evaporate as you cook.  Experiment with the liquid placed in your drip tray.  Add beer for brats and burgers, wine for steaks and even lemon-lime soda for fish.

Preheating – This is a critical step for having a successful grilling session.  Preheat your grill with the lid closed for 5 to 9 minutes.  This will allow the grill to reach the optimal cooking temperature.

 Classics on the Grill

How to Grill Great Steaks

Choosing the Meat – pick a steak that’s at least 1 1/2 inches thick with marbling in the meat.  Marbling means the fat is dispersed throughout the steak and the flavor will be, too. The fat adds flavor and makes it tender and juicy.

Take Your Turn – grill over high, direct heat and only turn steaks once during cooking.

Let it Rest – after grilling, steaks should rest for 5 to 15 minutes so the juices can redistribute throughout the meat.

How to Grill the Perfect Burger

Use the Right Meat – the best burgers are made from freshly ground, high-grade beef chuck in 80 percent lean.

Making the Patties – before grilling, make an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb.  This will help its shape while cooking.

For a Juicy Burger – never press down on the burger with a spatula when it’s on the grill.  This will push out all of the flavorful juices.

 Grilling Tools

Kenyon grill utensils

From grill utensils to lids, make sure that you have the right tools for all of your grilling needs.

Basic Tools – Only use grill utensils that are made of silicone or high temperature plastic.  This will prevent damage to the coated grilling surface.  Our Grill Utensil Kit is specifically designed for your Kenyon Grill.  It includes a spatula, fork, tong and basting brush.

Griddle – Will come in handy for most of our breakfast recipes.  The smooth griddle makes it easy to cook food like pancakes, eggs and bacon.  It is interchangeable with the grate that comes standard with all Kenyon Grills.

Optional Lids – Covering the grill creates a convection-like heat that cooks foods evenly and more quickly.  This will allow for shorter grilling times so that all of your food cooks perfectly.

Coated Drip Tray – A permanent solution that will capture dripping fate and juices, preventing flare-ups.  Upgrade from the standard disposable drip trays as this one never needs to be replaced.  The non-stick coating makes it easy to clean and is dishwasher safe.
